Democrats are playing games as usual, trying to get in as many votes as possible while delaying Brown's swearing in.

Sen.-elect Brown demands to be seated - Washington Times

Quote:
Sen.-elect Scott Brown on Wednesday demanded to be seated immediately, saying that while he is scheduled to be sworn in Feb. 11, "there are a number of votes scheduled prior to that date."

"Accordingly, on behalf of Senator-elect Brown, we request that the results of the special election January 19, 2010, be certified without delay and that a duplicate be provided me in hand no later than 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2010, so we may deliver the original by hand to the Secretary of the United States Senate in time to allow Senator-elect Brown to be administered the oath of office by the Vice President tomorrow afternoon," wrote lawyer Daniel B. Winslow.
Just as they voted for the $1.9 Trillion increase in debt ceiling, the dems are trying to get as many votes in as possible.

If they continue to delay, there will be a huge backlash for this.

They can play their game and lose more seats because of it. This will play well on the campaign trail.

How can you accuse anybody of delaying when he was scheduled to be sworn in Feb. 11 all along, wouldn't Brown be trying to push his weight around a bit prematurely?

If Coakley won that election she would be seated immediately.

Let's see a list of these critical votes coming up in the next 8 days... I'll withhold my outrage until that time.

Seriously, what is the hold-up? The election was not contested, therefore it can only be viewed as partisanship at this late stage of the game.

He agreed to that initially, but obviously there are votes coming up that the democrats would like to push through.

Kirk should not be allowed to vote - at all.

Once Brown has the certification in hand tomorrow, he should be sworn in.

Well he is asking now to be seated on Thursday. No reason it should not happen.
