Look up how many people were killed in each major battle during the Civil War then you tell me.
Reguardless, if you want to rewrite the Second Amendment, we have to rewrite the entire Constitution. Can't pick and choose and this isn't going to happen anyway. The Constitution is the foundation of our Country and not to be meddled with lightly. Yes it can be amended but this is not an easy process and it should not be.

This kid had been trained in gun safety from the time he could walk!
Yes, no matter how trained some people are, there can and will be tragedies. Your "facts" are totally wrong, however. According to all law enforcement reports including the FBI, the States that have enacted Shall Issue laws and have the highest rate of firearms ownership also have the lowest violent crime rates and license posessors are mong the most law-abiding. The truth does not agree with your "facts".

Huh?

federal gun grab is coming-- trust me. cornwallis's greatest priority was to find the rebel munition depot, no other greater priority. the men that had a boating accident will be interrogated and jailed. what is so sad about the anti gun posts on this thread is that these dear folks think we are the enemy and that blackwater is coming to their house bek they like them and want to help them.

I tried to rep you and wasn't allowed to do it so I will write a bit in support of you.

Just today I told my wife that some people want to rid the people of this nation of their guns to make it easier to take things over illegally without having to fear the people who own guns and are willing to use them to maintain what we have and get back what has been taken away. Why is it that it is always progressives who want so badly to throw the 2nd Amendment awy? I think they know something that the dupes that support them haven't figured out yet.

I guess you have seen that sign I saw the other day that said, "You can have my guns right after I run out of bullets." Now those words tell me that the author was warning those who want to illegally take his guns away from him that they stand a good chance of getting shot, or at least shot at, if they do come after his guns.

I wonder if you really think that the founders lived in the Wild, Wild West. I guess you do.

We could always pry them out of his cold, dead hands--if we can even FIND his hands after blowing him to bits. You know, they have these things called explosives now?

Sounds like a timeless statement to me, removing the variables of slave ownership, rural living and the confusion of the word "militia" in the 2nd amendment. But then again, I'm sure Jefferson was just a racist slaveowning terrorist, right?
