NO. The government has it's nose in too many people's lives. I'm sure the poor or underclass would be their first targets.
Just because a person receives public assistance does not give the government the right to assume the position of Big Brother.

Bull**** it doesn't. If someone is receiving taxpayer dollars, there needs to be more strings attached . Buying drugs with taxpayer money is unacceptable PERIOD. A program needs to be established to curtail this problem.

real world net result: same drug use, except now the welfare recipient spend 30 bucks a week buying urine cleansers. As a result, more complaints to local health officials who eventually demand welfare recipients receive a higher "cost of living" benefit. This is in addition to the tens of millions it will cost to regulate the drug testing.

People on welfare are buying: Drugs, flat screen tv's, rims, expensive food, and other luxuries people on the grind cannot afford. This sucks. This is gross. This is a problem. Alas, this will never, ever, ever, go away, or even be amended.

Drug testing does nothing to solve that.

The OP could have the spelling correct, if using the Urban Dictionary.

"Welfare" is really Aid to Families With Dependent Children. The money, for the most part, is like child support -- money paid to parents to support their children. Are you planning on testing the kids or the parents? Do you realize how difficult it is for a single adult who is not disabled or elderly to get any substantial help from "welfare"?

I have zero tolerance for drugs and I don't feel my tax dollars should be supporting someone's crack addiction.

I dont think that is true.... Maybe certain employees but not all......Those types of tests are very expensive. not to mention the man power need to do it all and enforce it. Plus the privacy issue. Oh yeah and people cheat through all types of drug tests all the time. Its just a somewhat unrealistic proposal

I think that is grouping everyone with an isolated few who know how to play the system very well......The vast majority of people on welfare are not living well at all. they are struggling very badly
