I wouldn't worry, she may have been pulling a million dollar scam, such as noted here:

"[Latasha] Jackson, a 32-year-old mother of three, was the subject of an Aug. 30 article that exposed how she received nearly $3 million in public funding from the troubled program while authorities repeatedly disregarded her extensive violations, history of lying and even proof from their own investigators she had defrauded the system.
She was shut down when regulators learned the newspaper was preparing to publish a story and when Jackson, who had bought a Jaguar and built a million-dollar mansion in Menomonee Falls, turned herself in. Jackson reported herself to the state a day after being confronted by a reporter."
Funding at 34 day care operations cut - JSOnline

"A Jaguar convertible sits in the driveway of Latasha Jackson's million-dollar mansion in Menomonee Falls. Built on a hill with a sprawling back deck overlooking a pond, the 7,600-square-foot home features an indoor swimming pool and indoor basketball court.
Jackson is not an Olympic swimmer, a professional basketball player or a celebrity of any sort. She is a day care provider in the city of Milwaukee."

Not YOU, not YOUR GRANDMA, not your coked out girlfriend on the corner. my grandma has investments and a retirement plan that she is pulling from, she is taken care of. just because you didn't manage your money right doesn't mean i should keep you alive...
How does one respond to something so callously irrational? You'd rather see someone dead than helped out b/c you made better investment choices in your life?

Who is proposing the demise of your 'cadillac health plan'? No one.

There is no gov. run healthcare proposal on the table b/c that would be a single payor system.

Do I have a health insurance? Yes. It's an overpriced shackle on me b/c my wife has a pre-existing condition. Deductibles are going through the roof and that results in insurance coverage that is not conducive to preventive medicine rather it's becoming catastrophic coverage.

But you have yours so congratulations.

Everything was fine, when insurance was a non-profit, and it was added to the workplace as a benefit, to get the best employees.

Now everyone employed, thinks it is a right to have full Cadillac insurance, at the place they work. Forget the cost of healthcare aspect. Where the middleman is the root of all evil.

I agree that the profit motive HAS to be removed from our health care system.

The current status quo is unsustainable and this is something both sides of the aisle agree on.

Absolutely. Just look at the numbers. It’s not a theory. It’s a fact."

Even a guy that seems to lean toward the Dems agrees that the GOP plan is a hardcore deficit killer.

But the key is cost control, firm federal cost control.

"An important note to understanding how Ryan's budget saves money: It's not through privatization, though everything does get privatized. It's through firm, federal cost controls."

I think he's objecting to being forced to help out.

When govt regulation goes down, voluntary charity goes way up. Happens every time. It's the nature of the American people.

But when govt starts forcing people, forcibly taking money from them to give to others, voluntary charity goes to hell. People say, "Why should I do that, the govt is taking care of it now.".

Increasing government intrusion is ALWAYS bad for the country.

With tax payer fueled bail outs and other forms of welfare for corporations that are wreaking havoc on the middle class, I partially agree with you.

What makes you think this is not what they are planning?

By making things they deem bad for us prohibitively costly, they get you to stop doing (eating) those things, and put those businesses out of business.

And what is the "myth" of capitalism?

When there ceases to be profit in an activity, that activity will cease. We have the high standard of living that we enjoy precisely because of capitalism. When free people are allowed to innovate, and create wealth for themselves, they create products that make life easier and more enjoyable. Is it any wonder that the United States in a little over two hundred years advanced beyond any other country of the world in existence for thousands of years?

Do you think Castro's Cuba is a better system? Hugo Chavez's Venezuela? Fine; go live there.

There would be no government bailouts if the government didn't give them. It is largely the Democrat party that is the Welfare Party.

The primary function of the Federal Government is to "provide for the common defense". It's in the Constitution. Read it. Learn.

The premise of this thread is so much Socialist propaganda. It is right out of the pit of Hell.

It isn't worthy of serious thought.

Let me suggest a book to you: Atlas Shrugged. Read it and learn.
