Again and again, the Republicans have presented the idea that government should get out of Health Care: Laws forbidding insurance companies from competing across state lines should be repealed. Laws forbidding proven drugs from being bought at lower prices from other countries, should be eliminated except for basic safety checks. Tort reform that lets doctors practice medicine without constant threats of being bankrupted by frivolous lawsuits, should be enacted.
And the majority Democrats have quietly bottled those ideas up in various committees. And then, adding insult to injury, various highly-placed Democrats (up to and including the President) have whined that "Republicans have presented no ideas, no alternatives, etc."... and, of course, the media remains carefully quiet about the many ideas and proposals Republicans have made and Democrats have suppressed.
Will the so-called "Health Care Summit" finally be the forum where Republicans can point out their longstanding proposals? How will Obama, Reid, and Pelosi react when it is revealed they have been lying about those proposals? How can they then welcome them as they claimed they would during this "Summit"?
