Trainer Death Sparks New Call to Free Killer Whales

The death of a SeaWorld trainer is being met with the inevitable calls to free Willy, and end orca captivity once and for all. “These behemoths are denied all of their natural, instinctual inclinations,” one tells the Christian Science Monitor.

Unless Russ the nostalgic dope is hiding his whale communication research project in his basement, he should probably speak less.

That whale didn't get angry, that whale got "whale."

Thank You! People think animals are exactly like humans and make rational decisions. These are wild animals that thrive on instinct. Frog and the Snake people! It doesn't matter how nice you are to them, they can react at any given point because that is their nature to do so. This is why idiots who purchase wild animals will often be mauled by them. This is the reason Roy of Siegfried and Roy was nearly killed by his white lion. This is why the Grizzly Man documentarian was eventually killed by the very same grizzlies that he covered. This is why Steve Irwin, the famous Crocodile Hunter, died of a Sting Ray piercing. I love animals but they are not humans

If I was a 12,000 orca in a tank, that hairless monkey trying to get me to do tricks would look pretty tasty too.

Predators eat things. Sometimes humans are on the menu. Have we forgotten this already? Civilization isn't that old.

It was a dolphin that killed the trainer not a whale as you said. We came up with the term "killer", so this does not hold water (no pun intended).

Yes and no:

How many times do you hear of a wife of 20 years who snaps and kills her husband?

Vice Versa

How many times does a seemingly normal person go off on killing rampage for no apparent reason?

My point is we, as humans are also wild animals. So are so called "domesticated" animals. As I have said earlier, this attack on the trainer was a rare, unfortunate incident.
