White on same-sex marriage: Rosa Parks didn’t ‘move to the front of the bus to support sodomy’ « Minnesota Independent: News. Politics. Media.

"Barb Davis White, a Tea Party Activist and Republican candidate for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, prompted shocked gasps from the packed hearing room when she said, “Rosa Parks did not move to the front of the bus to support sodomy.” Her testimony involved accusations that the movement for marriage equality is hijacking the civil rights movement."

For the first time in Minnesota history, a legislative committee contemplated the legalization of same-sex marriage in the state on Monday.

Read the article for other ridiculous statements. How is the fight for gay marriage "hijacking the civil rights movement"? One would think people passionate about civil rights would understand the plight of those who face discrimination, but apparently not.

Sad to see a black person, who has probably experienced bigotry, turn around and be so bigoted. Truely sad.

Someone with some common sense. It is insulting to the majority of blacks that the gays even equate themselves with slavery. Skin color and who you are having sex with is no comparison.

True. But there is no reason to make laws specific to who you have sex with either.

Women, Jews, gays, black people and yes, even white men have been killed and oppressed. Time the black community stopped acting like they have victimhood cornered.

No, but skin color and gender/sexual preference do have one thing in common that's important: choice. Do you choose your race? Do you choose your gender? Do you choose your sexual preference? I don't know about you, but I came out a white male who happened to be attracted to females. It probably could have gone any number of other ways, but if it had, would it have made me any less of a human being?

There ya go. I'm giving you the tools for critical self-thought. Now, put it to good use!

I have never understood bigotry displayed in people who are themselves a minority or oppressed in some way.

“I’m here today to tell you that homosexuality and lesbian behavior is unhealthy,” claiming that gays and lesbians have higher rates of STDs than anyone else in the world, including “gay bowel disease,” an ailment that does not exist and is often used by religious right figures to paint gay men as diseased.
Wow...just wow
