DEMINT:

White House land grab

Proposal to seize land would favor animals over Americans

A secret administration memo has surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico, halting job-creating activities like ranching, forestry, mining and energy development. Worse, this land grab would dry up tax revenue that's essential for funding schools, firehouses and community centers.
President Obama could enact the plans in this memo with just the stroke of a pen, without any input from the communities affected by it.
At a time when our national unemployment rate is 9.7 percent, it is unbelievable anyone would be looking to stop job-creating energy enterprises, yet that's exactly what's happening.

story continues... DEMINT: White House land grab - Washington Times
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Continuing evidence of the penchant of the Oba-maniac to control anything and everything. Another "secret" memo for the administration that promised clarity and transparency. So how's this Hope and Change working out for you America? BUSINESS AS USUAL...that's how, except this time we have a Control Freakazoid at the helm of the Ship of State and from healthcare to the census, from banking to commerce, from free speech and opinion to the right to disagree...HE wants to be able to exert his tyrannical influence upon everyone. Boy is he ever going to be shocked come November! America has no place in it's government for despots. When Barack Obama told that crowd back in the Fall of 2008 crowd at a campaign event that, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig,", I'll just bet he was lookin' into a mirror!

Land grab?

You just don't get it, do you?
Let's just look at vacated malls and failed developments throughout the US.
Just because you can develop something doesn't mean you have to.

If you ignore the environment, maybe it will just go away.

Very short sighted and selfish post.

Did Demint exress such outrage when G.W. Bush set aside 195,274 square miles of undersea terrorities under the same Act?

Marine National Monuments

Was he as upset when Bush added the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument (in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands) and Mount Vernon to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, effectively cedeing control of them to the United Nations, right along side other National Parks such as the Great Smokey Mountains, The Grand Canyon and Yosemite, which were given away by his predecessors, including his dad?

I doubt it.

His hypocrisy is mind-numbing, but that won't stop the Obamaphobes from lapping this up.

I get it all too well as I accurately described him. It's fair and equitable to judge someone by their ongoing performance. Obama is a proven and consistent liar, such men are NOT to be trusted, and has promised in his campaign rhetoric a certain couse and he's set upon it. To remake America...period. You, being a hapless hippie as you note, see him as The Messiah and are diametrically different than I. So no surprse that you disagree.

So what do you do in defense of your Great Leader. You make excuses like the irrelevancy of "vacated malls" and "failed developments" and then throw in the concern for the environment as you broad-based closer. One might justifiably observe....A very short-sighted and selfish post...indeed!

As a bird photographer hobbyist, I think the birds can sit just as well on private land as they can on public land and I agree with the "control freakazoid" assessment.

Do you need some help dragging the sorry excuse of Little Georgie-boy back to the public pillary again? You jokers are unreal. It becomes knee-jerk second nature to whine and whine and never stop whining about Bush. I criticize Obama and you INSTINCTIVELY hit the search engines databases pounding in BUSH + land takeover and such untl your wittle fwingers hoit.. It's truly laughable.

Look...if the heat is too high in the kitchen for the Oba-meister he can always pack up and leave. We won't miss him. I promise you that!

Soooooo, let me remind you and your pals that...
it's Obama that is now President.
it's Obama who is going to be judged on his pattern of behavior.
it's Obama who has appointed Communists and Marxist and sociliasts to positions of power.
it's Obama who has surrounded himself with people of similar belief.
it's Obama who you jokers all voted for who is a latter-day fascist version of a Marxist, so deal with it and deal with the opposition by people lke me who despise everything the b*stard stands for.
it's Obama who you put in office so I suggest that you re-register your political affiliation as "Marxist".

And most of all...Stop the Bush-whining. It is so embarassing to see all the time and truly minimizes you jokers as incessantly immature, whining, pablum-pukers. Bush is gone, Obama is here. DEAL WITH IT!

Look...if you recognize Obama for what he is, what is ideology is, who he associates with and has associated with in his formidable years, and what it means to be a socialist, then everything he is doing (except for a few things to throw us off track done purposely so that his true agenda is not revealed) makes perfectly logical sense. He told us exactly who he was during the campaign but people were not listening. Now we are listening and paying attention. Now you can decide if you want his kind of vision for America, or if you want the vision that this great Country was founded on. The choice is yours...

More Government intrusion on a massive scale. This will not stand!
States like Utah are in the process of establishing their dominion and sovereinty over their lands, to do with as they see fit for the benefit of their state citizens. These resources are the states to use as they see fit, if it means drilling for oil in a National Park... so be it!

The Government needs to be downsized to what the Founding Father's of Our Great Republic originally envisioned... not this massive and meddlesome tax and spend bureacracy that it has become.

Time to take these claim-jumpers to court!

"The memo said this should be done so the lesser prairie chicken and the sand dune lizard will be better protected"

Fine, swell, peachy, but where in the minds of our founders did they envision the purpose of the federal government was the seizure of lands to make life better for lizards and chickens?

The federal government could rule as a fascist regime, and some people would allow all their rights to be striped away, as long as the new dictator said it he was just trying to better protect lizards and chickens, or maybe just protect the planet from global warming.
