i could not be more against this bill....ergo....

however, setting that aside, I have to say I was tempted by the nuclear option under the republicans but and now glad they did not opt for it.

here we are with the shoe on the other foot....

There is something to be said for the comity of the Senate. This will go a long way to distroying that.

i wonder if the byrd rule could be used to stop reconciliation. at this point, i don't even know which bill they are planning on pushing through. did obama have his own bill added?

From what I understand the Senate version will be voted on by the House, with knowledge that the Senate has a simple majority to pass it. Then the Senate will add provisions to it, as a reconciliation that will include items the House wanted added.

As most liberals believe, "The end justifies the means."

If the "R"s have used it countless times, then why would it not be OK for "D"s to use it?

As far as I know, possibly without the knowledge of every time its been used, its been used for budgetary bills, which it was designed to be used for. Even Senator Byrd realizes that this is not designed to be used any bill that the majority wants passed any any cost.
