You are absolutely right - so many people that I have met here truly seem to believe they live in some kind of a bubble (America) and have absolutely no concept of the changing world outside their borders, nor of how this country is perceived by THE REST OF THE WORLD - which may as well be Mars judging by many of the posts I see here on City Data.

It is really quite astonishing - and very alarming.

As a gun-toting veteran, I personally do not care what is going on outside the borders of the USA except for our soldiers overseas. the rest of the world can take a flying leap as far as I am concerned.

what you do in your country has no bearing on what we do in the USA, please leave your politics out of our country and do not get involved with our politics.

to get back on track, this is the suffering to come:
When he released his new budget proposal on February 1, President Barack Obama asserted that the government "simply cannot continue to spend as if deficits don't have consequences; as if waste doesn't matter; as if the hard-earned tax dollars of the American people can be treated like Monopoly money; as if we can ignore this challenge for another generation."

Yet the President's new budget does exactly that-- raising taxes by $3 trillion and federal spending by $1.6 trillion over the next ten years. If enacted, this budget would increase the 2010 deficit to more than $1.5 trillion, and leave a deficit of more than $1 trillion even after an assumed return to peace and prosperity. Overall, the President's budget would DOUBLE THE NATIONAL DEBT OVER THE NEXT DECADE and, of course, americans would be saddled with the additional interest payment on top of that debt burden as well.

this is a president dragging us further into debt instead of easing the burden on americans.

I can see why you claim to be alarmed. The USA doesn't seem to want to follow along with the rest of these pathetic countries that we seem to constantly have to bail out of some situation or other. We want to lead our own lives on our own terms.

Not to be tolerated by the rest of the world. They can receive much more of our wealth and technology if we follow their lead like sheep.

Yet we don't seem to be falling in line. Very alarming!

Financially, the ever growing debt of the Obama administration is as yet going to be immesurably negative. I have a house I need to sell this year that has lost more than 25% of its value since Obama's election. I'll reap less $ from the sale, the house will spend more time on the market.

Captial gains on any investments will be taxed at a higher rate in 2011. My father may die this year and the Pelosi gang is looking to increase the "death tax" on anything he may leave behind.

I could go on and on on how much Obama is costing me personally. However, the negative effects on this nation from one year of his Presidency are quite evident:

Constant race-baiting and race tensions/division not seen in this country since before the passage of civil rights legislation in the 1960's. Much of the division is coming from leaders in minority communities like Rev. Wright, Farrakahn & La Raza as well has irrelevant Hollywood talking-heads who falsly attribute those agaist Communist policies as being racists against Obama.

The nationalization of private industry by the government to the detriment of corporate bond holders with legal rights yet ignored when their ownership was turned over to union special interests.

The debt upon the next 3-4 generations to follow come very close to ensuring at least the next two generations will inheret a country less prosperous than the one of the generations that preceded them.

Each over-reach of the government from their Constitutional authority has a negative impact upon the freedoms of ever American citizen, whether they choose to acknowlege it or not.
Most Excellent Post.x10x10

TRUST is being destroyed!
Especially the trust and respect that Americans felt towards each other no matter their party affiliation... because we have a common Heritage as Americans.
ObaMao-the -Destroyer would have us further divided like never before along racial, social and economic lines.
This Abomination seeks to redistribute wealth between haves and have-nots a utopian pipe dream of every failed Communist dictatorship!
His type of redistribution will have consequences like those experienced by every people dominated by authoritarian/progressive/socialists!
IT WILL MAKE EVERYONE EQUAL!
EQUALLY POOR!

The Tea-Party people are Uniting all across this nation like never before to tell our representatives that they have had enough of BIG GOVERNMENT!

ObaMao the DIVIDER!
Every democrat since JFK has done more and more to divide the people of the country, culminating in what we have now, ObaMao DIVIDER-IN-CHIEF!

My post was in regard to those passing judgement on the outside world, even though few have any idea of the outside world. So how could they know what the outside world thinks of Obama?
BTW. I put 3 years of my life in the US Army.

Beside all the rabid hatred for Obama, as most of the posts are, can anyone provide an account of having to suffer a personal hardship directly attributed to Obama?

I can only assume trillions in deficit spending is what you want. If you ever have children, you can explain to them why $400 billion in taxes each year will go to just paying down the debt that 0bama has created.

0bama and his democrats in Washington can wax on about rosy scenarios of supposedly saving $10 billion a year from his health care plan, but the interest we will be paying on debt he is creating will dwarf those meager savings.
