The OP is the last person who should to be finger-waggling about "vitriol". His entire participation in this thread is vitriolic nonsense. Sounds like someone parroting a parent or Faux New, to me.

Black people don't gravitate towards your party because all you have are stereotypes and 5th grade level "gotchas". The OP and some of the others perpetuating stereotypes here are the problem. Some people really cannot see beyond the end of their own noses, or are simply being dishonest for the sake of argument -- for the millionth time.

You lost the election. Get over it. No amount of disingenuous rhetoric is going to change it.

Black people tend to be Democrats for two broad reasons:

1) The median and average income for blacks is WELL below what it is for whites. Republicans tend to do what they can to cut taxes for the rich while cutting social programs for the poor. A fair number of African-Americans depend on those social programs to survive. It is non-sensical for a poor person to vote for a party that doesn't have their best interest at hand.

2) The Republican party doesn't understand non-whites. Between the Paul Shanklin's/Rush Limbaugh's "Barack, the Magic Negro," Republican senators in the South who STILL make it known that they're against interracial marriage, John McCain fighting against making MLK Day a recognized holiday in Arizona, tea partiers using racial slurs, the general "we're not ready for a black president," and "Obama's a Muslim terrorist" rhetoric from many McCain supporters no self-respecting black person would EVER support this party.

You can even see from the response on this thread why African-Americans tend not to be a part of the Republican party. There are PLENTY of middle and upper-class blacks who rely on NO government aid who would never be caught DEAD voting for a Republican of any type.

Non-white Republicans are nothing but Uncle Toms who are completely oblivious to the ignorance of their own party. They're so busy thinking that they're on an equal playing field with the whites in their party that they when, in fact, their own party couldn't care less about them.

Before the Republican party filled up with a bunch of ignorant hyenas (pre 1970), many blacks were actually Republicans.

Grenada - Reagan - Republican - Stopped the cold war, no shots fired and PEACE THRU STRENGTH but promoted PEACE first.
Persian Gulf War - Bush - Republican
Bosnia and Herzegovina - Clinton - Democrat

Democrats WIN!!!! They started more wars then Republicans ever did and more people died due to their continued blood and socialism theme.
Which has been continued with the BUSH sr and jr republican who is also a OLD democrat Wilson ideology that we must make the world safe for democracy.
How did the Democrats start WWI, WWII, and the Korean War? The Bay of Pigs was planned almost entirely under Eisenhower, and Kennedy himself called it a major mistake to approve it. The invasion of Grenada was considered a violation of international law by most of the world, and it was not bloodless (123 people died). I'd also like to hear how it ended the cold war.

One more comment: I love how you decided that the unpopular Republicans were really Democrats. That was a real laugh.

Black poverty has a good deal to do with Blacks having a lower entreprenurship rate. If Blacks are to reduce poverty it will require more Blacks to start and build businesses, creating more jobs for themselves. This sounds more republican and it's this aspect of republican views I agree with. Couldn't more wealthy Blacks be investing in poor Black communities? Why aren't there any Black owned grocery stores and gas stations in most Black areas?
