Not even close.

Democrat front-runner wins Fla. US House race - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100414/ap_on_el_ho/us_congress_wexler_s_seat - broken link)

Why couldn't the Republican make it close?................ He spouted all the right wing rhetoric?

Lynch had hoped public disdain for the health care bill and low congressional approval ratings would help him upset Deutch, widely seen as the front-runner. He sought to do what Republican Scott Brown did in Massachusetts when he won the Senate seat held for nearly a half-century by Democrat Edward M. Kennedy.

Lynch lambasted the health care overhaul as a government takeover and the gutting of Medicare, while Deutch told voters it would provide immediate relief.

Lynch had also slammed Obama's stimulus bill as doing little to help the economy and called the president's timetable to withdraw troops from Iraq "moronic."

No surprise. That win was expected as it is a heavily Democrat area (NY retiree transplants).

Enjoy it while you can........

Um....you do realize this is a heavy democratic area, which means a lot of those voters are the freeloaders and leeches that support the HC bill.

Democrats outnumber Republicans by more than 2-to-1 — 234,000 to about 111,000.

which voted about 65 percent for Obama in 2008. Wexler, of Boca Raton, had endorsed Deutch.
These are not the districts we are interested in.

Next time, take a look at the pollster ratings - a solid dem seat. There are still many of those in the House - we are interested in the lean dem, toss-ups and lean Rep.

Low turnout;

He has to run in Nov.

Right but so was Scott Brown's race.

I guess we can't draw broad conclusions from a few races can we?

Yes the district went 65% for Obama and now a year later 62% for the Democrat.

Exactly... what a bogus thread. It doesn't mean jack if a democrat wins in a highly democrat demographic region.

It is all about swing votes and independents that give us a foreshadowing of the political situation.

Is this the start of your Tea Party Revolution?

I don't think so.

Better go join a militia, seeing that you can't accept fair election results.

The results aren't indicative of anything having to do with the TP.

Broward county is filled with obama supporters.

This is just one of many that the dems will hold, but we only need 41 to take the House, the rest you can keep.

To win anything in this heavy of dem area is nothing to jump for joy about.

This area of Florida is full of NE liberal minded transplants so this is no big deal.

Unlike the Scott Brown case where we destroyed more then 40 years of a democratic controlled seat.

I can see the dems are desperate for something positive. As this is nothing but a run off to cover 6 months of another dem scam artist who did not even live in his district in Florida.
