I think I'll take the figure coming from people who were actually there and talked to the police - 10000.

Have you seen the video and pictures?

Not the picture before the crowd filled in.

The Tea Party is a collection of some of the dimmest bulbs in the US.
Yes, I came across this last night:

Tea party rally generates plenty of criticism, opposing views - The Boston Globe

Early yesterday morning, Valerie and Rob Shirk corralled their 10 home-schooled children into their van for the 2 1/2-hour drive from their home in Connecticut to Boston, arriving just in time to hear Sarah Palin denounce government-run health care at the tea party movement rally on Boston Common.

“The problem in this country is that too many people are looking for handouts,’’ said Valerie Shirk, 43, of Prospect, Conn. “I agree with the signs that say, ‘Share my father’s work ethic — not his paycheck.’

The couple, who rely on Medicaid for their health care, were also upset about the nation’s new health reforms.

FWIW - The original Tea party was not protesting a tax on Tea but the British government giving the East India Tea Company a monopoly on the trade with the American colonies. That meant that the Yankee shippers could not buy tea in India and ship it home for their own profit. In fact the British Revenue cutters (ships) could seize American vessels for "smuggling" tea into the colonies.

I was not taxation the “patriots” were protesting but government protected trade. Now if the current Tea Party protesters were protesting the credit card companies usurious rates or the bankers paying huge bonuses with government money they would be doing something useful. As they seem to be protesting the government helping the destitute they are doing nothing but expressing their selfishness and hidden racism.

It's really too bad you keep insisting upon this. All the local Boston media reported around 5,000 people.

A protest of even 1,000 or 5,000 (using the lowball estimates) is very impressive anywhere in New England.

So, tell me, what number is 'good for Boston'..a moderate size city in one of the most liberal states? What's the magic number that will convince you that this is a movement that has teeth? I'm guessing about 1 more than the highest reported.
you wouldnt convince these people of the validity of the Tea Party if every single member of congress was voted out for a Tea Party candidate.

they would just say that the crazies had won.

Trust me, these people believe denial is a river in egypt.

Of course, I doubt that Sam Adams had her in mind.
The way things are going, we'll have to sell off Boston to the EU to pay off liberal debt.

Good! Rather share a nation with Europe than some in this one.
