They make it news not because they actually follow the concept of limited government and mostly it scares the crap out of democrats.
I'm not sure if even those who started movement thought sarah palin would be making speeches. The day mitt romeny makes speeches at a tea party event then I know the tea party movement is the neocon movement. I how that day never happens. Neocons are looking to hijack it for political power just like the hijacked the republican party.
The tea party movement are more in line with ron paul supports then BUSH supporters.
Tea party people need to just look to movement of limited government and what the ACTIONS of those who supposely Support it.
Amen brother. Amen.

All I'm getting at is he isn't an active member of the Tea Party. Or any other political group as far as I know.

I don't see the problem with him being there.

There have been plenty of former Supremes that were members of specific political groups. Taft and Warren come to mind. Don't think it caused problems.

Supremes are human beings just like the rest of us. They don't live in some kind of vacuum.
There isn't a problem with him being there.

The problem is that the Neil Cavuto ad promoting the event featured a photo of Thomas. And I've said that Thomas may have been entirely unaware that that photo would be used to advertise the event, but once aware, he should contact Fox News and the Cavuto's producers and have his image removed.

A recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll shows that while 96 percent of Tea Party activists identify themselves as either Republican or Independent, only 4 percent say they are Democrats.

There are a lot polls around on the make up of the Teabaggers. Obviously, they vary somewhat. However, one thing I haven't seen is a survey showing more than 50% of the 'baggers being Democrats or leaning that way..

Are you sure Glenn Beck's chalkboard isn't the source of your information?

I think you're right that the "Tea Party" generally is a movement within the context of the Republican Party. I suspect it is just like the old struggle between those who supported Reagan and those who supported Bush (senior) back in the late 1970's.

I wouldn't be surprised though if you see some of the "indifferent independents" and "Blue Dog" Democrats ending up evolving into Tea Party members. I don't think the numbers will be that big, but it could be sufficient to switch quite a few Congressional seats away from the Democrats.

I don't see the Tea Party as a party per se, but a movement to recenter the Republican Party. I suspect they will be somewhat successful in their efforts.

Daily Kos: State of the Nation
Sure, "Upton" According to the "Daily Kos"? LOL! Give me a break. How about citing some credible sources?

Holes have already been shot into this garbage. For example: What is the percetage of whites to blacks in the entire U.S. population? You might be surprised to find that it is pretty close to the percentage of whites to blacks who suppor the Tea Party movement.

Secondly, other poll show that blacks, by-and-large, support Obama. Is that a surprise?

The Tea Party movement represents a large majority of Americans, not the mere 18% that is being reported by these latest "polls". They want you to think that the Tea Party is a fringe group. It's not (but you go right ahead and believe that, because if you do, that increases our chances of success in this years mid-term elections).

You're underestimating the numbers of Americans that support the Tea Parties. It's more than you can imagine.

Not only so, but it's been shown (in another poll/study) that Tea Party people are more educated, and earn more on the whole.

The leftists are doing their best to discredit the Tea Parties, and the people who support them. They have even found it necessary to infiltrate the events, to discredit them. Why? If it is as you say, they wouldn't need to. I think they realize the threat.

Thanks for the laughs, "Upton". Your always good for a few. Keep posting. I always did love a good joke.

So true. These left-wingers are so pathetic.

Don't blame the Daily Kos, blame the University of Washington, they did the study.

University of Washington survey shows Tea Partiers motivated by race

Nice try, but there's no evidence whatsoever that Teabagger supporters comprise "more than you can imagine"...

In fact, the new NYT/CBS poll sheds a little light on the reason for your confusion..

When asked..Do the views of the people involved in the Tea Party movement generally reflect the views of most Americans?.. 84% of the Teabaggers answered yes, compared with only 25% of all respondents.

You see, when locked in your own little Teabagger/Faux News world, often things appears different than they actually are. Reality takes a hit....
