The recent volcanic eruptions in Iceland have wrought havoc upon the global enviornment in a manner far beyond what insignicant man could ever accomplish. The aerosol volcanic ash has brought all airline traffic over Europe to a complete standstill. It has clogged aircraft engines and even caused crashes. It causes respitory problems, increases athsma effects and may cause unknown trauma to not just human lungs, but those of other creatures as well.

It is obvious that the EPA did not see this coming, did nothing to warn folks nor take the necessary precautions. Even worse, Mother Nature in a few hours has undone all the combined efforts of enviornmentalists world wide.

Let's put this in proper perspective. How does millions of tons of volcanic ash compare to a few hundreds of a percent CO2? Will the ash cause global cooling by blocking sunlight? Or will some of the volcanic gases contribute to greenhouse gases? Does anyone know for sure? How valid are the computer models now? How accurate can they now predicte future global climate effects?

Perhaps the Obama brain trust could issue an Executive Order banning all volcanic eruptions, limit the amount of volcanic ash blasted into the atmosphere, cap active volcanos to prevent future eruptions or at least penalize those countries or states that permit volcanic eruptions.

He could do this. But he would really make an even bigger ash of himself.

David Redszus

One of the best emails I got on the subject today. It will be interesting to hear the nonsense by the treehuggers on this one.
It's clear to me now, the EPA must put volcanic ash on its list of harmful emissions!!

Looks like a good list of developing countries that stand to become very wealthy if any kind of global carbon trading scheme takes effect.

But I'm sure their motives have nothing to do with money. The primary concern of the citizens of Ghana and Uganda is "green" energy, no doubt.

Mammoth Mountain, a SoCal skiers paradise, is a volcano that was thought to be dormant. Since the early '90s, it's been belching CO2 at the rate of 100 tons per day. So much CO2, it's killing off trees on the mountain and the gov is putting up warning signs so people don't die of oxygen deprivation.

But my Jeep is killing the planet...

I am sure that we must introduce anti-volcano legislation soon. The time is now! If we wait, we will all die. Cap and Trade must include volcano provisions.

The Republicans have proposed cutting taxes to solve the volcano crisis.

Al Gore is flying to Iceland soon to have a talk with with the volcano to convince it to stop its activity. He is also proposing that the UN put sanctions on Reykjavik to force them to control their volcano.

Exactly - NATIONAL Science Acadamies - funded by their respective governments - half of which can't wait to start collecting (and spending) the billions if not trillions of dollars skimmed from the world economy in the form of carbon taxes and other so-called green initiatives. And the other half who can't wait to get their hands on the billions if not trillions of dollars to be transferred from developed countries to the third world in the form of penance and reparations to "attone" for decades of environmental destruction.

In what psycho paranoid fantasy world are you hacking up these delusions? Is this a contest to see who can come up with the most outrageous statement? Can I play too?

Maybe the Queen of England and the Rockefellers are behind it all, with financing from George Soros in order to corner the uranium market when the world is dependent on nuclear power after all drilling is banned! We will all be driving electric Le Car's that we were made to buy after France took over leading the New World Order! The horror...the horror...

His comment was spot-on. Why not address the points made if you disagree, instead of trying to ridicule the messenger?

Do you even understand how the proposed cap & trade system works?
