Smokers who are already hired should not be fired. But I fully support the move by some businesses not to hire smokers. If I had a business I would not hire a smoker. But if there is a smoker that already works there, that is no reason to fire him.

Unbelievable. BTW that Brooksville is a small town area, with a lot of farm and ranches surrounding it, one could almost say "red neck town".

But as soon as you make that known then "smokers" become "liars". I wouldn't be ok playing games like that to make myself feel morally superior. I'd KNOW it was a joke and I'd feel like a idiot for causing it all.

What a nut, I'd vote her sorry ass out of office ASAP. Smoking, it's a personal choice let it at that!

I don't think she will have to worry about serving another term. What a crackpot!

In a private company, the employer has every right to say whatever they'd like about your personal habits.

If, someone wants to fire you for wearing hats, at home, that should be up to the employer.

However, this is a government agency, and I'm not sure it should be done in that environment.
