Why does tolerance only go one way. Perhaps these Mexican supporting kids should be given a lesson in diversity and tolerance to tell them that just because you don't like something, you can't go out, be violent, threaten property and lives. You have to have "tolerance" for those who don't think like you.
Actually, most of this country needs a lesson in diversity and should really check out their roots as well. Just because they don't know squat about it, doesn't mean the rest who DO know can't embrace their heritage. What did ever happen to the "melting pot"? It seems that it lost its flavor.
I understand the tolerance part and whole-heartily support the last sentence of yours, but it's also WHITE America (I use white to replace whatever ethnic background the Americans have no clue about anymore) who do the same. Don't know about violence or threats against property or lives.
Anyway, the Patriots in this story could have worn their attire ANY OTHER DAY OF THE YEAR, but they chose that day specifically. There wasn't really anything wrong with it except that they did it in response to Cinco de Mayo, which comes off as a form of antagonization.

Where did you get this idea? According to the boys, they wear these shirts every few weeks.

Remember, Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican celebration, and not an important one at that. It is a beer holiday that was heavily promoted a number of years ago by beer manufacturers and restaurateurs in an effort to generate more business. It isn't even celebrated in Mexico.
Regarding the boys and hiding the flag, No they should't have to. The American flag should NEVER be offensive any day of the year in the US, NEVER. The only people who are offended by one of the greatest symbols of freedom the world has ever known are the intolerant reconquistas at the school and the usual conclave of America hating leftists. Funny, leftists never worry about antagonizing people when they burn the flag, shout obscenities, denounce the US, debase religions, and any group they see as the "enemy" and all the other cacophony that accompanies leftist "free speech" demonstrations.
Ironically, the Mexican students behavior would NEVER be tolerated in any country, including Mexico regarding another countries celebration.

* An overwhelming majority (69 percent) of people in Mexico thought that the primary loyalty of Mexican-Americans (Mexico- and U.S.-born) should be to Mexico. Just 20 percent said it should be to the United States. The rest were unsure.
* Also, 69 percent of people in Mexico felt that the Mexican government should represent the interests of Mexican-Americans (Mexico- and U.S.-born) in the United States.
* Zogby's poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agree with the statement, "The territory of the United States' Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico." Only 28 percent disagree, and 14 percent are unsure.

I always find it interesting that they want to waive the Mexican flag and show full support for mexico yet they don't want to live there.

So it's the land they seek and not jobs, free health care, schools for their children, and every other thing that U.S. citizens are rightfully entitled to- OK that's good to know.

I agree ... If Mexico is so bad then why are many folks trying to turn the US into a second Mexico? Since when does students displaying OUR NATION'S flag become a controversy? Celebrating Cinco De Mayo can be controversial considering the whole illegal immigration debate.
