Again,I feel sorry that a huge majority of 86% have a clearly undemocratic view of the justice system in USA...
I hoped I could persuade 40% of the forumers ,but at 14% approval,elected justices are not even a remote political issue
You do realize that a truly democratic justice system would do away with a "system" altogether. No judges needed. Someone breaks a law, the people form a posse. They apprehend the guilty party. They discipline the guilty party. There's no reason for the accused to have a trial. If the majority of people believe in the accused's guilt, then in a democracy the accused is guilty. There's no reason to have sentencing guidelines. In a democracy, the people decide what the appropriate sentence is.
In the 1st ever "democracy" ( only for men,women,minorities & slaves did not vote...) ,in ancient Athens,quoted by so many politicians with classical culture,all judges were elected directly by the people,not indirectly by politicians,as in USA...
