50 Stupid Laws From 50 States

Considering states are obliged to be doing considerable budget cuts, perhaps they should consider getting rid of some of the excess law enforcement burden.

It's still legal to kill Indians in Montana and South Dakota, but I think it's high time Indians voted on that one. Turnabout being fair play would mean 5-7 white men on their land for any reason are a war party meriting execution.

No one in Connecticut is allowed to walk backwards after sunset.

Floridians must bathe dressed, Vermont is forced into the tub on Saturday whether they like it or not, while Indiana may only bathe seasonally.

Idaho better smile OR ELSE?

Anyone brave enough to ask what the heck is going on in South Carolina that horses aren't allowed in bathtubs? These people are scaring me. Wait... it's illegal for donkeys to sleep in bathtubs in brooklyn!
Crazy Laws

Kinda makes you wonder what the point of putting these idiots into office....or any type of authority.....was ever really for.
So...this is supposed to be "governing?"

Judging from a few people I've run into, the bathing law in Vermont is not well enforced. ROFL.

I have been breaking the law all these years. Who knew that I needed to be dressed to shower. Learn something new everyday.

Virginia inherited much of the legal wackiness of 17th Century England.

As for California: if any idea is stupid, the legislature will vote for it.

I'd add the laws which make marijuana illegal to the list of stupid laws, as well as the laws in 49 states that prohibit prostitution under any circumstances.

You are right about California. It all depends on what special interest group and who profits from it.

Speaking of California: back in the 1980s, when the Los Angeles City Council repealed a batch of old laws, one of the laws they repealed was a law prohibiting cattle drives within city limits. I used to consider testing that one out and seeing if I could get away with conducting a cattle drive in L.A.
