Exporting America's manufacturing base and other jobs to China and beyond. You just can't have a weathy nation without well paying middle-class jobs. China is eating our lunch. Agreed - we've traded the manufacturing sector for the financial sector (percentage of the economy has reversed in the last 30 years). As a secondary sector of the economy, manufacturing produces a finished, usable product - not a service, but something tangable.
You can't defend the country with a "service".
