Let's start a thread listing some of the campaign promises that President Obama made and broke or hasn't yet kept. For those of you who want to deflect and turn this into a post about Bush or someone else, please start your own thread. Feel free to defend why you think any listed weren't broken, though.
1) No family making less than $250,000 will see "any form of tax increase."
"not any of your taxes."
2) End imcome tax for seniors making less than 50K.
3) "Will ensure that federal contracts over $25,000 are competitively bid."
4) Allow imported prescription drugs.
5) Allow 5 days of public comment before signing bills.
6) No lobbiest in the administration.
7) Double funding for the main federal support for afterschool programs.
8) Will maintain fiscal responsibility and prevent any increase in the deficit by offsetting cuts and revenue sources in other parts of the government. (Maintain a balanced budget).
9) Eliminate pork or not sign a bill with pork (ear marks).
10) Put health care reform negotiations on C-SPAN.
11) Eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses.
12) Provide a $3,000 refundable tax credit to existing businesses for every additional full-time U.S. employee hired.
13) Have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months.
14) Repeal all national and state regulations of abortion passed over the last 35 years. "That's the first thing that I'd do."
15) Give a $4000 college tuition credit.
16) Not signing Executive Orders without first consulting with the Justice Department.

That gets the list started. Add to it or refute them if you can, but don't change the subject please.

I realize that Obama hasn't cleared everything up overnight as the Republicans were challenging him to do but Bush took 8 years to put us in this position too. That also didn't happen overnight. Besides that, I do HOPE that he will get his A$$ in gear and start working on his promises including pulling out all troops and maybe bailing out the common people instead of just the banks.

Lame excuse, again blame Bush.....Yeah he started some of this, but Obama KNEW exactly what he was getting himself into and with his true arroagance, and still begged the American people to believe him. So they did and BANG! What has he done? Don't blame Bush, he's been out of office for long enough. Obama has had long enough to "get his A$$" in gear and fix most issues, but he is more concerned about kissing the butts of leaders of other countries that HATE us, then do his job.

And he broke almost all of these promises within his first few months in office.

"That's hope and change, we can believe in!"

What I would like to find out is how he fares against other Presidents. They have all made and broken many. Some will be forgotten. But some will be remembered, as George H.W. Bush: "Read my lips, no tax increases."

Did he promise not to break his promises? That would be another one.
