Elderly Homeowner Shoots Suspect Dead in Garfield Park Home Invasion - Chicago News (http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/metro/home-invasion-suspect-shot-dead-garfield-park-20100526 - broken link)
This happened in Chicago so the 80 year old veteran may face charges for having a hand gun which is illegal in Chicago. Wonder what the loud mouth mayor of Chicago has to say about this.

An 80-year-old Army veteran shot and killed an armed man who’d broken in to the two-flat where he and his wife live in East Garfield Park early this morning and fired at him.

Bad link no story I'm sticking with the Chicago 7.
Good for him! To hell with what Chicago says maybe if they would arrest the thugs that threaten normal people on a daily basis and shoot up the city then this man would not have needed the weapon.
But...but...guns are evil and bad! BAN ALL GUNS! How dare he shoot that poor man in cold blood!
lol Good for him. Im glad he got the best of that piece of trash breaking into his home before the POS got him. Meanwhile, the left and others will continue to wish for the end of the 2nd Amendment

Frighteningly enough, there are those who do not take the first part of your post as sarcasm. They honestly feel that way. In the twisted progressive mind self defense IS evil. Personally, I find this story to be quite...uplifting. Just because the guy was elderly does not mean he is helpless. This generation grew up in hard times, fought a great war, and had to scratch and claw through life which made them double tough. This guy was NOT going to let some rodent just walk in and take what he wanted and touchy feely outlooks be DAMNED. He is a GREAT American!!
OMFG this quote from the article is classic!!
(referring to the armed robber)
Quote:
Nelson was studying to be a carpenter, his mother said, and was due to start a job next week clearing out homes
This Vet did Chicago a favor and he should be applauded. I'm glad to see that the police are not prosecuting him for having a handgun either (which are banned within Chicago).
