After an oil induced slip last week, Obama's approval rating has risen back to it's normal 50%. It seems that the lines have been drawn. Those who approve, will always approve and those who don't, will never approve.

The only reasonable person the republicans could run that could win would be Romney but he'll be massacred in the primaries and somebody from way right field will get the nomination and lose handily.

I think that the republicans could run a broom handle against Obama in 2012 and win. The only candidate that could lose it for them would be Sarah Palin, and no republican wants her.

Obama is doing fairly well considering the crap he has to put up from the right.

Obama doesn't have my approval so far. His presidency has been weak. So much hot air during the campaign, but it all amounted to nothing. I really didn't expect much, but he has been a limp president. I am neither Democrat or Republican, but I admire a president with balls. Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan had it. I wish we could have a leader of that caliber again. Obama = all flash and no substance. Roll on 2012.

Indeed he is. As I've said MANY TIMES on this board, when you look at how he is doing compared to PAST Presidents in the midst of tough economic times Obama is doing REMARKABLY well. In fact, he's held up better than ANY President for the last 50 years. Reagan for example had MUCH lower approval ratings in the midst of his economic crises. The Obamabashers simply choose to ignore history because it doesn't fit their political agenda - a VERY silly and ignorant thing to do.

Look at approval ratings for PAST Presidents - especially during major recessions. Obama's ratings are VERY GOOD for the circumstances.
