My parents will be retiring and plan on snow birding between fl and ny. What would be their best options for an active 55+ community? Single-family houses only (no condo/townhouses), gated community with clubhouse, exercise room, and lots of activities/clubs. PSL, Stuart? Up to low $200s.
Also - any opinions of Vitalia or Cascades? One better than another?

It really hinges on what sort of lifestyle they would prefer. There are a multitude of options and you know your parents better than we do.
What might be considered "best" for active, gregarious seniors might be a living hell for those who just want to keep to themselves and can't stand "make-busy" activities. There are obviously a lot of options to weed through, but narrowing down a "best possible scenario" might be a good start to help weed out the ones that don't meet your parents' needs.

Thank you, DanielAvery. I think paramount would be the exercise room and swimming pool activities. A community that has a host of activities available from crafts, to movies/shows, dances, social activities such as happy-hour, meet-and-greet, pizza night, etc., would all be things my parents would enjoy. Also perhaps organized "field-trips" so to speak with other members of the community.
