Any other classic car buffs on this site? I have a 69 Corvette.

One of the things I did not expect when I moved here is the frequency of seeing classic cars on the local roads.

I would think it may be an "optical illusion" because of the good year round weather. In the Northeast and I would think the mid-west, we typically put our cars away before the first snow (can be November) and don't take them back out until a couple of good spring rains (to wash the remaining sand and grit away). Your point has me wondering though whether there are more cars "down south". I will see what others on a Corvette forum that I participate in think.

Vero Beach has a big classic car show at Riverside Park every March. Free to the public.

Sorry we've missed it. Shows are a lot of fun - we pack sandwiches and drinks and typically spend the day. Always nice too if you come away with an occasional trophy.

This Sunday, there's the 18th Annual "Classics on the Beach" car show at the Elliott Museum in Stuart. You are going to love Spring on the Treasure Coast !

I didn't move that far to live here; I grew up in Southern Georgia. We had our cold spells but most would still say it had warm weather, and rare, old cars were indeed rarely seen outside of car shows. My uncle has one of those classics hiding in the garage (a Model A that was/is a family heirloom) but only takes it out to drive for special occasions (parades, etc.) simply because it isn't a very comfortable ride!

FLB - thank you very much for the links. Deffinetley going to look them over this morning and see if one will have me! As I've said in some previous posts, it's going to be nice to be able to use the car year round. I will say this though....even up here, in the dead of summer it is almost unbearable (at least that's what my wife says) inside the car. Older Corvettes, just by the way they were built, generate a tremendous amount of heat. Plus my car is a coupe. You know, now that I think about it, perhaps I can rent it out in July and August as a mobile sauna!! LOL!
