The National Weather Service said officially the Portland area has set an all time record for the wettest summer.
Nearly three inches of rain fell on the area last evening in little more than an hour. Flooding occurred in small streams and standing water was a problem in some areas.
Last year was bad but this year has been worse. I guess we're lucky Hurricane Bill missed us.

I'm more worried about winter this year. If we keep getting into these moist patterns we could be buried!

Yea, I am guessing a cold wet winter is coming

I did looked up the old el nino and lal nina thing and though I am still not sure how it effects us here in the NE I think were into a change...its been one way for several years and is now changing back..so maybe that could help dry us out for winter and maybe next summer

Seven years ago we had a drought. Now we have record rain for a summer and we still have 4 more weeks of summer to go. I predict next winter will be cold and windy with snow.
