how are the ski resorts on mt hood doing this winter? I know its been rather mild and dry so just wondering. I typically am out at mt hood or mt bachelor around late april and am just curious as to conditions so far this season.

Currently there's a pretty good base of snow on Hood. Bachelor is also looking good.

Bad start to the season, but things have improved. Last I heard, Timberline snowpack was at about 85% of average for this time of year. But we are getting a series of Pineapple Expresses right now, so the snow levels are pretty high (about 5000 feet and above). Hopefully that won't diminish the snowpack!

Since I don't ski, I'm not sure how useful this is. But you can check conditions at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl

We had some big snowdays for a few weeks, now it's too warm up top with the rain. Snow level needs to drop or at least stop raining so we can get a nice spring season. I might buy a spring pass at Meadows($119 for the rest of the season) if it looks like the weather might improve. I usually get some good spring days, either lots of fresh snow or sun and corn snow still by late March or early April. Some years we get dumps up to the end of the ski season in late April.

yeah, I lived at mt hood for 4 summers ( 07-10). So im familiar with how it can be. 07 was pretty low on snow and 08 was near all time record. We were riding out to timberline parking lot through mid august. I just keep hearing its been pretty low snowfall so far and mostly warm. Im doubtful that there will be a great spring or summer season if there isnt much more snow in the next couple of weeks.

The year got a really slow start. There is a joke around my house that goes "Bring your rock skis!" Said every time the news give the snow report.

It looks like there is snow now. It keeps raining and the weather is warm. It's been 50 degrees in Central Oregon and the freezing level is running high, so I don't know how long the snow will last.

One of my tenants has a job as a ski instructor at Hoodoo and I don't think he has worked all winter.
