Where are good places to purchase Japanese Maples or Bamboo? I did a search online and came up with Garden World but have not been there yet.

Are there any places that have lots to choose from?

Thanks,

There's a bamboo place out in North Plains that has the best selection and variety.

The nice thing about buying from Portland Nursery is that they guarantee trees and they are very knowledgable and helpful. I have had very good luck with my plants from PS and highly recommend them. There are many great nurseries in the Portland area as there are so many gardening enthusiasts here.

We drive to Portland 3-4 times a year and always stop at Portland Nursery on Stark, they have a great collection of trees to choose from. I haven't looked for bamboo there, we have a place selling only bamboo right down the road.

That bamboo nursery looks amazing! I'm going to check them out asap!

Will check the Portland Nursery too. With so many Japanese Maples in everyone's yard, I figured there would be a go to spot for them -

Thanks!

as amazing as that bamboo place is, and ours from there have thrived - we also bought a Japanese maple from Home Depot of all places for under $30 and the thing is awesome!

Those folks at the Bamboo Garden are very knowledgable. It's a fun place to visit. For maples, I have found interesting varieties at a lot of the smaller nurseries. The larger ones tend to carry the most common varieties. Might want to try some of the plant show sales. You missed the Canby one this year which is a nice one. For shear variety, Greer Nursery in Eugene can not be beat.
