hello, my husband and I are over 55 we are the parents of ten kids and 25 grand kids and one great grand child. we want to retire in Newport limited income; whats the average rent rate in Portland?

I would Imagine theres a big difference in the rates between Newport and Portland.--Maybe not?

You can Google coastal oregon craigslist to see what rent costs and usually see a photo of what you are getting for that rent amount.

You can Google Portland Oregon craigslist and see what rent costs. I'm pretty sure that Portland Oregon craigslist is divided into separate areas so you will have to check each area.

PS: You will have a difficult time finding a house big enough to hold all of those people in either location.

Just research the Cascadia Subduction Zone before you buy on the coast. Tsunami risk is real and can happen anytime from today to 100 years from now.

In Arizona you can buy a new five bedroom house for like $190,000. That's where I would retire if I were on a limited budget. I think in Newport I'd be depressed and never leave the house.
