I was really surprised at that....Phoenix with over a million, only has 23,000 working in their DT...portland has one of the busiest DT's in the USA, and the busiest per capita. It makes sense, as it is very centralized and has plenty of rapid transit...
who here thinks that DT portland is humming with workers on week-days?

I know PDX is humming with people weekdays. I used to work downtown. I've spent hundreds of hours downtown during the workday. And Phoenix is actually about 1.5 million which makes it's downtown workday population of 23K even more pathetic.

Actually, my understanding is that downtown Portland has 80K workers.
