do you work in a Portland area emergency room? (Corvallis: employment, move to)

My wife and I are looking at a future move to the Portland or Seattle areas, and aside from tons of research on the Pacific Northwest in general and all the intricate details that make life in both cities unique...I'm also curious as to whether this forum could be a source of some feedback on employment options (she's an emergency physician currently completing residency).

I've noticed over time that a decent amount of self-identified nurses and physicians frequent these boards, so given their fairly anonymous nature, I'm curious...would anyone who works or has worked in the Emergency Department of an area hospital like to provide some conversation about what they feel are the ups and downs of their career in Portland? I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone with a career focus on pre-hospital care or critical care.

Thanks in advance for any comments, opinions, anecdotes, etc. you'd care to provide. We're generally more interested in urban facilities than suburban ones, but any information might be useful. Also, feel free to sen me a direct message if that's more comfortable (though forum responses are always of greater value since everyone can benefit from them).

I agree. I am in the medical imaging field as well and would like to hear if there are any other people in the hospital setting on these boards and their experiences/opinions on various hospitals in the entire oregon region including Corvallis, and southward.
