I'm 21weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins. And my biggest craving has been raw broccoli and cauliflower. Was wondering if its good to eat these veggies raw. Because every night I indulge in a salad with tomatoes, cauliflower, broccoli and croutons. And I absolutely LOVE IT. any body else have any weird cravings? I've never even touched cauliflower before until I got pregnant.

I can't believe it doesn't give you horrible gas. Even today, not pregnant, raw cruciferous vegetables give me very painful gas.

I have read that raw "sprout" veggies like these, radishes etc can harbor dangerous bacteria, primarily salmonella.

Food Safety During Pregnancy

I wonder if you have the chewy/crunchy craving. During my late stages of a twin pregnancy, my iron levels dropped a bit and I had this overwhelming urge to chew on things: ice, straws, my toothbrush.

I may be way off, but when I read the ingredients of your salad I noticed that they all require a lot of chewing (except the tomatoes, of course).

Nothing wrong with it...make sure you wash the veggies thoroughly!
