i dont know why ppl want to kill there babies i was 16 when i had my lil girl who is now 7 years old and i had a misscarriage and now i ant have any more my husband and i are going thro all this stuff to even adopt and while we wait i cry cuz i want one or two so bad it hurts me

In humans, the fetal (foetal) stage lasts from the eighth week post-conception to birth, which has nothing to do with viability. The use of the term fetus (foetus) in the article indicates that the woman remained pregnant after being beaten; otherwise, the writer would have used the term baby. If, instead, he had written baby, the reader could reasonably conclude that the beating resulted in preterm birth. It's a well-written, if brief, article about a tragic event.
