By the way, bought some gass there the other day and the pumps are clearly identified as Robert's Market.

I wonder why they haven't installed their Roberts Market sign along the roof of the pumps?

OK, the wife and I finally went to the A&W.
I knew it would not be what we remembered but how do you know unless you go?
So off we went. This place is still in training and they are learning.
The hamburger was typical. Disappointment for me was the Root Beer float.
They did serve it in a mug with soft Serve ice cream. The waitress, still in training put entirely to much soft serve in the mug and very little root beer. In my day two scoops of home made in the mug did it filled with root beer.
I will go back and they will improve.

The soft serv has to be floating in the root beer. Hence, Root Beer Float. As it melts some, it gives the root beer that creamy consistency.

I did not make my point strong enough on the disappointment of the root beer float.
As stated, my my day and the day of the original float, 2 scoops of home made style vanilla did the trick.
What I got was a mug full of soft serve with maybe 1 oz. of root beer in the mix. Not even good. In this case, the root beer was floating, at best. And I don't like soft serve anyway!

I'm on the same boat. I prefer to eat real vanilla ice cream with root beer, not soft served. That stuff is where Dairy Queen accelerates in along with their Blizzards.

I have come to a conclusion.
Nothing can replace the tastes and memories of old.
All we can do is cherish the memories.
