So is it true that if the Giants didnt blow the huge lead against the Eagles the packers would not have been in the playoffs?

Default Super Bowl Sunday - Exciting or Bust??? Maybe.....

Fourth Quarter "Score 21 New England 20 Giants" Commentator "Each team has had an opportunity to pull away in this Game but each have faltered and given up the ball at some rare time" - Manning had his pass at 14 yard line intercepted and ran back for a touchdown and Brady fumbled a handoff keeping this game one possession from being even up" "Here we go with 1:13 left to go Giants on the New England 43 yard line Manning handsoff ball taken to 40 yard line -- he was hoping an opening would appear but it just didn't happen -- 2nd down -- Manning back pass to the 31 dropped -- 3rd Down 7 yards key play 41 seconds left -- Manning drops back runs to the right -- he's going to try and pick this up himself - he drops the ball - New York recovers at 44 yard line -- this may be out of field goal range -- Holy Mackerel they're going to try a field goal which would be about 58 yards or more -- ball is hiked set - kick is up - Its.........................................

You can add the Ref not flagging Benny Barnes for that ridiculous interference call. That flag bothers me more than Jackie Smith's drop.. That flag led to a series of plays that decided the game. It gave the Steelers a 1st down vs a PUNT. I think the Steelers scored on the next play or a play or 2 afterwards.. The Cowboys fumble the ensuing kickoff which the Steelers scored from and basically put the game away.

I had forgotten the flag on Barnes but you're right - that play made me almost as sick as Jackie's drop.

Vern Lunquist of Jackie Smith:

Bless his heart, he's got to be the sickest man in America!
A 10 year old kid later named little elmer in response:

But I'm the sickest kid in America!

On that line of thinking, Lynn Swann (ala Wes Welker) drops a couple tough passes in Super Bowl X... and
Percy Howard's TD grab in the 4th QTR from Roger Staubach pushes the Cowboys to their 2nd Super Bowl title... Percy Howards only catch in NFL history becomes a Super Bowl winning TD catch vs simply an interesting footnote.
