The Chargers will alienate their fans if they do cut him. Although Tomlinson has had injuries the last couple seasons, he still is a quality player. And San Diego's stadium issue is till up in the air, the last time I heard. He is extremely popular with the fans there.
Running back is one of the positions where you can't have enough of. Just ask Denver.
I would think LT's stock went up after Sproles was stuffed by the Steeler D last week. Love the little dude, but he does not strike me as a durable franchise RB a team can ride deep into the playoffs. A healthy LT is.
Maybe there's more to LT's groin injury then they are letting on?
what are you charger fans thinking for the off-season?? I think we need to keep Sproles in case Tomlinson's injury/performance was as inconsistent as it was last year... Things are definitely looking up for next year though.. so many close, tough losses for us this year esp. the Denver game week 2. Merriman's return will make the D THAT much better and i can't wait to see him come out and tear up the AFC West. We're a damn youthful defense right now and i think that this year, if our running game is consistent we will go far in the playoffs.
keeping Sproles is a must, especially since wheter or not LT will be healthy will be a mystery. Chargers need to get out to a good start quickly and not have to play catch-up like they did at the end of the season. The Broncos and Chiefs will be interesting since they have new coaches, the Raiders will probably be the same team they've been for the past several seasons.
Sproles is a definite must have especially with the condition of Tomlinson. Merriman has stay injury-free also, he's been getting injured too much, and yeah they have to start the season out coming out strong. and not play catch up. they got to start like the Bills did, except not fall apart in the 2nd half of the season.
Oakland DID give them all they wanted, but the Chargers showed how quick and methodical they could be at the end. Winning the division this year, I don't think that will be a big problem for San Diego. One thing about the club, the media has been pretty quiet about the stadium issue. Does anyone out there in Chargerland know what is going on with that?
whats going on with their stadium? i know the Cowboys have to get rid of that giant ass HDtv in their new stadium cause its an obstruction. When the kickers kick the ball on a kickoff, they hit the tv, and somehow the Cowboy kicker doesnt hit the tv. coincidence? I think not!
Great start to the new season. 1-0, keep it going boys.......
Louis Murphy was robbed.
