Broncos have got to be one of the best and most exciting 3-9 teams ever!
Broncos defense blew their chance on the last drive.
Russell Wilson did his job, sacrificed his bod.
McManus wasn't gonna make a 63 yard field goal with a hurt leg.
Surtain the second can take the blame for that one.
They weren't supposed to win anyway so no right?
A game of inches. McManus's field goal try from 62 was short by a foot. if you look at the final stats it would show the Ravens with slightly better stats than the Broncos. That last drive Baltimore had was the killer, though. And those two penalties the Broncos had in the last two minutes--ugh!
Baltimore had to win to stay even with Cincinnati for their division lead. Denver? All they are doing now is just finishing out the string of a season that went haywire right from the get go.
By losing out (3-14) their remaining schedule, Russell Wilson would tie the Mickey Slaughter Led, '63 & '64 (2-11-1) teams for the worst winning pct. (.170) in Broncos history.

I know about those days, the first Bronco home game I went to was in 1962 and at that time the Broncos were far and away the worst club in the AFL. Other than Lionel Taylor, Jerry Sturm, and Willie Brown Denver had little in the way of overall talent. Fast forward 58 years to now the talent is certainly there but this whole season has gone haywire. And Kansas City knew then and knows now how to humiliate the Broncos. More on that on a later post I'll make on it. Trust me, those games I'll talk about were painful.
But yesterdays game wasn't the humiliation that it could have turned out to be. When the score got to 27-zip I'm sure people were going to hit the exits big time at the end of the first half. But the defense didn't give up and picked off two Patrick Mahones passes and were later turned into touchdowns. And Russell Wilson turned in a gutty performance. And for the rest of the game Denver played solid ball, albeit in defeat. This is how it should have turned out as opposed to most, if not all the Bronco losses.
The killer was Russell being benched on concussion protocol. Could they have pulled it out if he stayed in. Don't know that for a fact, but I think he earned the respect of the fans anyway. He certainly has been taking heat for this season. And the last time that Denver has been 3-10 was in 1967, the year Mickey Slaughter and Lionel Taylor were traded to the Oakland Raiders for a couple Raider rejects, one of them being Rich 'Tombstone" Jackson, one of the Bronco all time greats.
The Arizona Cardinals are coming in for Sundays game, 2 o'clock kickoff. Too bad this wasn't going to be played in Phoenix, I'd make a beeline out there right now, GJ's temperature right now is 13 degrees.
They are in the same bot as Denver as they have only won one game more than the Broncos, they also lost qb Tyler Murray for the season with an ACL tear Monday night. One thing that might boost Denver's morale is that linebacker Randy Gregory looks ready to go for the game, has been out for the last ten weeks. Denver's decision on quarterback most likely will be at the last moment due to Wilson's situation on the concussion protocol. Brett Rypien would get the call, and in fact Jarrett Guarantono has been activated off the practice squad to be the backup if Wilson does not suit up.
So... what are they gonna do next year? Hard to think Wilson is still going to be there after this disastrous season, but they kinda traded away all their options to move on from him and they have to pay him a fortune.
