I think their best hope is to get a new coach not only for next year but for two years after if they can’t improve Russ and have to start over with a draft pick at QB in 2024. They may as well declare 2023 a lost year at this point.
Shannon Sharpe said “they let Russ cook and he burnt the whole damn meal and everyone went hungry.” It has gotten so bad players wanting to fight each other is a frequent occurrence now. Hackett very clearly is in far over his head to the point where he may WANT the Broncos to fire him and go back to being an OC so everyone forgets how awful this head coaching stunt is.
Pretty sure Russ signed Hackett's death warrant yesterday, and it should be the end of George Paton as well. They can't let Paton hire the next coach after screwing up bigly with Wilson and Hackett.

It sounds as though Denver can release Wilson after June 1st of 2024 and split that $85 million dollar cap hit between 2024 and 2025 instead of the whole $85 million hitting all in 2024. This is probably Denver's best chance of moving past what is probably the worst contract ever signed by an NFL team, though the repercussions of lost draft capital will be felt long after Denver and Wilson part ways.
Yep Hackett did not even make it to black Monday January 9th
I predicted his firing already
Double H can try coaching now. Would be an improvement as he knows more about football than Hackett seemed to….
Hackett was a great fit for Rodgers/Pack offense that doesn't mean it equates to HC ability. I'd love to see him come back to the Packers, give LaFleur some offense help.
Players absolutely loved him, hated to see him go. What works for one place, not necessarily another and Wilson isn't Rodgers.
Did it get mentioned in Denver, that Russell Wilson's TD pass on Sunday tied him with John Elway for #13 all-time at 300?
What did yesterday do to Russell Wilson's passer rating?
Well it looks like Hackett haters got their wish. My biggest problem with the guy is how comfortable he seemed in defeat. I am thankful for my DVR, and the delete button. It's been a delete button type of season.
Interesting you should say that. I like LaFleur but his calm nature after losses, saying winning feels odd against friends and family. I think of him and Hackett as similar personalities. I like them both but a little more intensity at times is good.
I wish Nathaniel well. If he wants to come, take over RZ plays, I wouldn't be upset. It's fallen off the cliff since he left.
