Yes the Cardinals did deserve some off those penalties especially Gandy's but there were also too many that were bogus. I give the refs a E.F.

EPIC FAIL

the players on both teams had to play their best game, but so do the refs, and that include fairness.

I didn't care about which team that won, but i prefered the Cardinals cause i like watching the teams that never won before finally get it. However all i ask whether the Cards won or not was fairness. Yes the Cards should have played better in the 1st half, but all i ask is fairness from the refs.

You know, I keep hearing that about the Seattle game, so I tried to pay attention to it when I watched the rurun of SB XL on channel 212; I'm totally not seeing it.

But when I see any rerun of this last one, the NFL neatly evades all of the controversy.

Tell me, what was it that the refs did so wrong in SB XL?

McGowdog - google it and you'll find numerous examples

the key early play is awarding ben with a TD on a QB sneak when he was clearly short

also, early in the 4th with the seahawks driving the full length of the field they had a phantom holding negate a long reception that would of setup 1st and goal from the 1 and pretty much would of put them in the lead ......... on that same play pittsburgh jumped offside with no flag

a few plays later after an interception they called hasselbeck with an illegal blocking penatly ......... while tackling the ballcarrier from the front

this gave the steelers field position that allowed them to risk the trick play

there are numerous other examples throughout the game - those are the 3 that will get the blood pressure up, but the whole game was officiated terribly .......... including things that were not called

here is a pretty level headed read on it

I love this; Chris Collinsworths first two topics of discussion;

Reaction to Kurt Warner’s final play / Refs having too great an impact on the game?

Here's some of that interview with him and Rome.

Wow! I bet Steeler Fan can really appreciate that guy's mug. A guy who probably single-handedly prevented a possible Steeler-49er matchup.

People on here are totally crazy if they think that wasn't a fumble. Not only did Warner fumble the last play, but he fumbled the first one too. If you look at the last one he clearly lost the handle on the ball BEFORE his arm started going forward. The only reason why the ball went forward is because his arm(which was caught on Woodley's because he was stripping the ball out) flung forward and the ball which by that time was resting on his wrist. The first one if you slow it down can see that he lost the ball and tried to squeeze the ball and push it but never had control of the ball. And everybody is talking about Warner's fumble, but nobody said a word about how Fitzgerald ran about 60 yards unblocked out of bounds to nearly make a touchdown saving tackle on Harrison.

It's funny that for a team that people claim the officials cheat for has had more apologize from the league than any other team in the last several years.

Blahblahblahblah? What?

I say the forward pass was an incomplete pass! You say the forward pass was a fumble! So let's review it! Oops! Game over!

Prior to Fitzgerald running out of bounds and coming back in, there was a clip right in the back at the 23 second mark of a youtube vid I'm not even going to waste my time digging out again, that would have nullified a touchdown that I was fully prepared to accept as a fair play. It was NOT! The block in the back happened way before #11 came back in to even come back into bounds. The flag should have been thrown when Harrison was at about the 15 yardline.

I still say, and I saw the play with my own eyes, that Kurt had his arm/elbow going forward, the defender grabbed it, he kept a hold of the ball and forced his arm, the defender, and the ball forward, released the ball about 5 yards into the air and harmlessly onto the ground! Even his offensive lineman stood there and watched the ball as it hit the ground. Then a Steeler jumped on it and the ref said, "Fumble! Let's get outta here."
