One of the absolute best!!

It was a blessing to learn about and become a fan of football because of Merlin and the rest of the Fearsome Foursome.

Today is a very sad day.

He was classy, for sure. He had as great a career as one could have, it always amazed me why the Rams did not win an NFL championship during his years with them. Probably his most impressive statistic was going to 14 straight pro bowls.

Lamar Lundy, Rosey Grier, Deacon Jones, and Merlin Olsen. Dick Butkus once said that those guys who were nicknamed the "Fearsome Foursome" were the most dominate NFL defensive line ever. I concur with that.

I sure hate that. That Fearsome Foursome was sure fun to watch.

Olsen's cancer is often related to asbestos and as such, he has a couple of lawsuits pending against a couple of former employers for exposure to such.

I worked in commercial power plant construction for well over two decades and I know guys who have died because of this. Mesothelioma is a brutal condition to have. Almost all of them were insulators working with asbestos. Mesothelioma attacks the outer linings of the lung.
