As an owner of dogs, I used the Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner quite often in my home. Dogs tend to make messes and I needed a way to clean them. I decided to purchase this machine at a membership warehouse, and I spent a little less than two hundred dollars for it.
I love the fact that you can put hot water into the tank. I used mostly green, environmentally safe steam carpet cleanser in the machine. There is plenty of water in the tank and that allows you to do a 12 foot by 12 foot floor, you'll have to add more hot or warm water to it if the carpet is larger.
The suction power in this machine is incredible. It sucked up most of the water out of the carpet, and left the carpet barely damp. The carpet I used the machine on was construction grade, and very thin. A carpet with thicker pile may take longer to dry.
As you are cleaning the carpet, you can see the scrub brushes going in little circles. The scrub brushes really get deep into the carpet fibers allowing it to become cleaner. This steam cleaner is great for large and small jobs. I often used it to clean small spots on the carpet. I use this machine at least 2 or 3 times each month.
There is an upholstery tool on board as well. It really works to take stains out of the upholstered fabrics. I used it several times to clean my sofa and chairs and I'm pleased with the results. Several people have borrowed this steam cleaner from me and they love it as well. As a matter of fact, my own mother loved it so much after she borrowed mine, that she bought herself the same carpet cleaner.
