I guess so, but for me, it's against people I truly don't believe are deserving of their attention or whatever it is they are receiving.

I root for deserving people. A talented person wins a Grammy, I praise that, whether I actually like their music or not.
I'm annoyed if they beat someone I like better, but... I don't begrudge them their prize.

Untalented people getting #1 hits, or winning awards... people who have proven their inability to sing without auto-tune... it's annoying, and I can't help but diss them at any opportunity. Some people have called that jealousy. I just think I'm severely annoyed at injustice and knocking them down a peg is merely knocking them down to where I honestly feel they belong. But yeah... I guess that's the textbook definition of "jealousy."

It doesn't just apply to music. Music is just an easy example. Any situation where someone is simply not deserving... it irks me.

LOL okay, whatever - I'll change my statement to "language has always changed over time, to expect it to stop changing is ridiculous." Whether the change is for the good or bad is really subjective.

But since this trheat is specifically asking about jealousy, I figured it makes the most sense to use the proper definition, and not get derailed onto the topic of envy. If the OP wants to know about envy and jealousy, then she can say so.

It's like if an OP started a topic about disliking drinking milk, and wanted to know if anyone else doesn't like to drink milk. If people start posting not about drinking milk, but about their like or dislike of other dairy products, that's getting off the topic, like people talking about envy--related topic, but not the topic. If people start posting about how they love soy milk, which is not milk, then they are mixing up the definition of "milk" that the OP intended to talk about, which is like talking about envy because people mix up envy with the actual thread topic, which is jealousy.

Jealousies turn into insecurity and that is bad. Or is it the other way around ?

My last relationship ended pretty rough cause of the jealousy and insecurities.

Now I find my self not giving a damn anymore , but at the same time I Dont feel like I'm loving or caring as I should be ... is this the bad side effect?

I think it might have to do with a not-yet-conscious belief that jealousy, love and care are part of the same fabric.
