I work. Barely get by but better than being homeless.

I know you're having trouble finding a therapist, but I would encourage you to try again and also find a psychiatrist. A lot of people with BPD get approved for disability. But for that, you need a documented history, proof that you've tried other interventions and most importantly the psychiatrist knows you, what they write plays a huge role in if you're approved or not.

I can't afford either. I have insurance but I can't afford the co-pay associated with seeing them. It's not as if I never plan to see either again, I just can't at this period.

Who is your insurance through? Have you checked to see if there are other plans or if with your low income you're eligible for Medicaid.

Aetna and Blue Shield. I haven't checked because I thought Medicaid was for older people.

It's Medicare for elderly/disabled and Medicaid is for low-income. Might not hurt to see if there is something available.

I felt the same way in my twenties. Couldn't stand to be still around others. Those feelings hard to say where they went but I don't have them now. Keep trying angles on the insurance. Perhaps a willing therapist will give you some slack on the co pays. Glad you're working.
