As someone who lives ~20 miles away from Niagara Falls and who goes there every few days, take it from me that the average bagel is far more 'awesome' than the city of Niagara Falls, NY. Niagara Falls, ON is perhaps of comparable awesomeness to the average bagel--the average bagel being bland and entirely unawesome in my view. If you're dealing with people who find bagels of any kind to be awesome, that right there is to be a great indicator that contact needs to be cut off. Sure, de gustibus non est disputandum, but....
He obviously means the natural waterfalls itself.... not the man-made cities adjacent to it.
Does anyone else get tired of people repeating the same words. Why use words such as "awesome" or "phenomenal" to describe everyday things. If the bagel you just ate was "awesome", how do you describe Niagara Falls? If your league tennis partner is "phenomenal", how do you describe Roger Federer? I used to find this kind of thing amusing, but it's has worked it's way into our everyday language to such a degree that people who don't use these words are considered sad or surly. For example, if I have a normal weekend and someone asks me how was my weekend I say, "It was fine" or "it was pretty good, thank you." Then I often get replies like, geez, that bad huh? Or, sorry it wasn't good. I find myself wondering why "fine" or "pretty good" actually mean bad to some people.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is it just me? I used to work with many people from Europe, and they did not use these terms or exaggerate everyday occurrences. Maybe it's just an American thing? Americans do tend to be copy cats.
Agree with you. I notice that those who like to use "big" adjective words usually are exaggerators and *sskissers.
At my workplace there are a few girls/women who always use the words "marvellous" and "fabulous", "wonderful". When they say those words, they emphasize them, make them longer than normal. And yes, they like to talk too much, constantly, like to exaggerate everything, to show off. They are very arrogant and like to kiss the management's *sses. I disgust them.

You can't use any other word after devouring a king sized Reese. So yes, it's a prefect description for some things.
