I am starting to think that the present gov't doesn't want me and others to move here. This is absolute BS. I want to hear from Real Estate agents that post here about this. Tell the people that are thinking about moving to PC/PG what they should expect to pay above and beyond what the rate is. So far I have spent over 3K looking in the area in hope that this will be my home, but for now I will wait until I have better info.

If you want decent, accurate, reliable information, look at the county tax collector website.....nothing else matters. I can't understand why people don't do that to start with. Anecdotal information is worthless. if you still can't figure out what you want to know, call them on the phone...they're really helpful and you can find out most of the particulars about anything you want to know about any property...... How anyone with any money to invest hasn't figured that out leaves me very confused..

Hey chucky, if I wanted to hear from the tax dept., I would call them!!! I would rather hear from the people that pay taxes and R.E. agents that live in PC/PG. As far as when you buy a home I expect an increase but I STILL want the input of the local residents. If you can't understand that then you have a problem.

I don't think Florida is a buy and hold state. I think a lot of people who bought cheap homes will find in another year or so the taxes will go up more than they are paying right after they bought it. From what I understand the 1% does not apply to individual homes. So if you bought a home for 50k and now its worth 150k your tax bill is going to go up. But the golden lining is let it go up and sell out and move to a more tax friendly state. Insurance and property tax are gong to take a bite out of your wallet. But the good thing is that it may start to flush out the low lifes who bought in cheap homes and are the same type who put a car up on cement blocks and have a motor on a cherry picker for months at a time and 10 dogs. It may start to make them move out to where they belong. LOL Trailer parks.

My condo went up from 998 last year to 1287 this year. But to be fair it went from 85 what I paid for it to 156k now. So I will be golden in another year or so. Florida is a good stop on our way to a better place for us. Its not going to be a cheap place for long.
