Since moving to PGI this Fall, we've been avid bottle water drinkers. I guess anything other than cool Lake Michigan water tastes funny to us.

Who here ignores the taste and saves the money by drinking tap? Does Port Charlotte taste the same as PG water?

I'd only drink it unboiled in an emergency -- or buy a reverse osmosis water filter if you want to use it and save money.

I also drink bottled water only (distilled). I use tap water to boil for tea/coffee though.

I drink a few gallons a day out of the fridge tap. It does seem to have a slight taste straight out of the sink tap, but the cool fridge tap tastes great to me, and the pets.

My GF only drinks the bottles. We used to fill up the 5 gallon water cooler bottles for her at walmart for about 37 cents a gallon, but it was a pain. She now drinks whatever bottles she gets, usually 1 gal walmart "drinking water" for everyday drinking. Of course we also have another full fridge with just beer and sports sized bottles of all brands of water for on the road.

I'll stick to the tap water, I don't like throwing money away. Bottled water is sometimes more expensive than gasoline....thinkaboutit It all adds up....water, organic foods, snake oil supplements....we are talking $5k a year. For nothing.

BTW, don't tell her...but sometimes when she asks me to fill up her glass I get it from the fridge tap instead of her bottles......she never notices .

And PS....Today's tap water is 100 times cleaner than our parents drank for all those years. We are just a nation of prissy worriers now. Believe me, something else will kill you first before drinking tap water will.

We drink it from the fridge tap filtered and also from the kitchen sink also filtered.

If you have a good filter it taste fine, otherwise it tastes terrible.

We live in Rotonda and drink water from the tap all of the time. Also from the fridge door. Paying for bottled water makes zero sense (at least to me). It's been proven time and time again that most bottled water just comes from someone elses taps anyhow. But people will pay for anything if it's packaged and promoted properly. Case in point: Pet Rock

Unfiltered water here taste nasty .. We have a softener and 4 filters under the sink and a RO unit and THEN its fine to drink.. Must be what each of us accepts as good/normal etc . Filtered and R.O. water for cooking and especially making coffee . Bottled water is strictly for the boats..

In Englewood (and when we lived in PC), we drink from the filtered fridge dispenser. Probably 3-4 gallons per day. Plus Ice. Coffee comes from unfiltered tap. We ONLY buy bottled water maybe 1x per month for guests who prefer to drink that.

We buy bottled water for convenience. Someone wants a water outside, dock, car, boat, deck, garage etc. I don't think ourselves or guests want me bringing a cup or glass to the areas I mentioned. Buy it on sale for 3 bucks a case. About 12/13 cents a container. I don't think that will break the bank. Yes unfiltered water in Punta Gorda is funky.

We have a reverse osmosis under the kitchen sink and it is also connected to our fridge for water and ice. I drink that water but not straight from the tap.
