I went up to the shopping center near Lowes in PC yesterday and noticed that La Esperanza Mexican Restaurant is gone, along with a bunch of other businesses as well.

Mike they closed somtime after plaza mexico opened. I figured they just lost to much business to them

That's a shame. I went to Plaza Mexico shortly after it first opened; the food was waaay to salty and the music (or maybe it was a tv) speaker over our booth was annoyingly loud. Maybe it was just opening jitters? Anyway, both the wife & I liked La Esperanza better.

La Esperanza was my favorite mexican joint. They closed well over a year ago (maybe even 2 yrs now). I was told a family member opened El Jalisco on 41 just south of Harbor. Tried it twice, didn't think it was similar but that's just me. Then I was told the previous La Esperanza owner was going to open a new place out on Kings Hwy, but don't know if it ever came to fruition as I never get out that way.

When i lived across the river i used to go to Compadres mexican resteraint on Dearborrn in Englewood alot. Guve them a try. On saturday nights they had a cruise night on dearborrn also.
