I'm looking at properties in Rotonda West and South Gulf Cove. I like a property right on Gasparilla Rd., but have been told the traffic is bad and the noise level is pretty loud. Is the traffic bad all year, or just in season? Thanks!

I'll guess you're looking at one of the builder's model homes?

Gasparilla is a busy road (I'd go as far to call it a freeway). No way I'd buy a home on Gasparilla just to save a few dollars. Remember, you'll probably have to sell the place someday.

Correct. The model homes. That's a shame!

Hey Havana,

Go for it if you want. The good news is the large majority of your time spent outdoors will be in the backyard, not the front.

Indeed these homes can be snagged at an attractive price . . . . I looked at a few myself when I was shopping the area.

I just couldn't get past the part about "living on a freeway" and concerns about selling the place someday.

Good luck. I hope you keep us posted during your search.

Talk to MrSunshine if you are looking to build in that area, you won’t find a better built home for the price.

I personally wouldn't live on or near GR, especially as it may soon become a 4 lane

Is it 2 lanes each side now to become 4 lanes each side in the future?

I drive that road several times a year, in season and out of season when going to the beach at Boca. It is definitely a very busy road, especially during season. We have pretty much decided that we will avoid that area from November thru April.
