My 15 yr old blind, deaf and tumor in ear shih tzu that has seizures as well is now gone. The ear tumor was inoperable due to his advanced age. It would get infections and bleed and I treat with ear drops and prednisonne. He has had seizures since about age 9. On meds that was controlling the seizures until last week. One night late he had an extreme seizure or maybe a stoke and yelped and stiffened up and wet himself. I cleaned him up and had been feeding him canned food away from the other animals. The next night he would not eat at all. He stood in a pool of pee and the next morning he could not walk, only drag himself along by one foot. I called vet twice begging for relief for the baby and he didnt want to do it. On thur evening we loaded up for camping trip and left the shih tzu to be looked after by mother in law. On friday morning she gave him his meds, came back later to see him and he was gone. So sad but I know he is no longer in pain. I held him the night before we left and cuddled and loved him and told him it was ok that mommy understood and didnt want to see him suffer. And so while we were at hospital waiting to have my kidney test, we get call that hes gone. Fifteen years of loyalty, love and comfort. I will miss him dearly. His name was Booboo.
I have a wonderful little shih tzu. Mine is so special to me and I know I would be hurting so much if something happened to him, so I can understand your grief and am so sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss. I believe he is now running the great fields of the sky, happy and healthy, with lots of new friends. Many of my prior furbabies were there to greet him. <<hugs>>
