We had a bit of a mishap with our uhaul truck and had to leave some stuff behind. We are trying to figure out a way to get the rest of our stuff shipped. U haul says we can submit the receipts but never guaranteed they would reimburse us. Therefore, I want to try to keep the cost down. I need to move about 6 boxes of house hold stuff (games, post and pans, dishes-all already packed) and a oak book shelf that would need to be packed or wrapped. The bookshelf is the only big/bulky item. I figure it weighs about 100 lbs and is about 6 feet tall, three feet wide.

Any suggestions? I have to hurry and get the stuff out of the house but after that, I don't care how long it takes to arrive.

Do you want to keep the bookshelf? If you just have boxes it would probably be cheaper to ship them via UPS. I know professional movers (allied, bekins, etc) do partial shipments too as we had to split our shipment into 2 because there wasn't enough room on the truck.

Oh no, they ended up having to leave behind an armoire and all our dining room furniture plus a treadmill, grill, etc. We truly had only half our stuff get on the first truck because it was already 1/3 full when they came to get our stuff on moving day. I told them we needed an entire trailer to bring the stuff to the house, but they insisted it wouldn't be a whole trailer. My in-laws are moving out here in a couple of weeks. They are using UPS to ship odds and ends they won't be able to fit in their car.

I know the boxes would be fine going UPS but not sure how I would pack the bookshelf. I might have to leave the book shelf behind
